Fighting organised crime means disrupting criminal economies by effectively tracing, seizing, and managing illicit assets. Strong cross-border and inter-agency cooperation is key to making asset recovery truly effective.
On 12–13 February, the European project JUST-SHARE – Judicial Synergies for Transnational Seizure, Harmonised Asset Recovery and Enforcement officially kicked off at SAFE Headquarters in Soave, bringing together the project consortium and launching a collaborative journey to strengthen judicial cooperation across the entire asset recovery supply chain.
Funded under the EU Justice Programme, JUST-SHARE promotes an innovative and systemic approach by mapping the full asset recovery chain, fostering mutual understanding among key actors, and enhancing the application of EU mutual recognition instruments through training, capacity-building, and networking activities.
Fondazione SAFE proudly serves as Project Coordinator, providing strategic, technical, and administrative leadership for the initiative. SAFE will guide the consortium, lead project governance, coordinate capacity-building workshops for judiciary representatives, law enforcement agencies, Asset Recovery Offices (AROs), Asset Management Offices (AMOs), and policymakers, and oversee the development of practical, evidence-based guidelines to support effective inter-agency judicial cooperation in asset recovery cases.
Over the next 24 months, JUST-SHARE will contribute to stronger transnational cooperation while promoting the rule of law, fundamental rights, and EU values. SAFE is proud to work alongside esteemed partners such as the Regional Anti-Corruption Initiative (RAI), Center for the Study of Democracy, and The Siracusa International Institute for Criminal Justice and Human Rights to advance this critical mission.
