SAFE is proud to be included in Issue 1 for 2020 of the CBNW Magazine, the leading journals for CBRN defence, countermeasures and analysis of threats worldwide.

The article “Preparing Lebanon to CBRN” present the project “Technical Assistance on CBRN Risk Mitigation in Lebanon” in which SAFE President, Andrea D’Angelo, is Team Leader. The TA project achieved already important results such as the “Gap Analysis” aiming at identifying strengths and weaknesses of various Lebanese Institutions as well as prioritising the actions to be taken in case of a CBRN event.

The result of the analysis was a tailored training plan to better respond to the needs of each institution involved. By the end of 2019, more than 150 first responders were trained in detection, sampling and identification of CBR agents.

The approach used withing the EUTA project is innovative and proactive, allowing a full synergy with other CBRN ongoing projects and bilateral initiatives funded by other donors and eliminating the risks of overlapping.
