READYMED-EUROPE is an initiative aiming to transform military medical training across the European Union funded under the European Defence Fund (EDF) 2024.

The project is developing a ground-breaking Military Medical Training Federated Platform that will significantly enhance both preparedness and interoperability among military medical teams, while addressing challenges such as limited access, resource fragmentation, and outdated training methods. The resulting platform will enable cost-effective and realistic training to improve decision-making, teamwork, and procedural skills critical in high-stakes environments, including those involving mass casualties.

It will integrate state-of-the-art simulation, extended reality, artificial intelligence, and 5G networking technologies to deliver a comprehensive and modular set of medical training modules for Prolonged Field Care, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, CBRNe Training, MASCAL and MEDEVAC Management, as well as Surgical Simulation. The consortium brings together leading European research institutes, defence innovators, and international partners, including Fondazione SAFE, which plays a central role thanks to its CBRNe training expertise using XR technologies.
