More than 50 participants from across Europe, international institutions, and a shared goal: strengthening European civil protection through cooperation, innovation, and training. 🇪🇺
Today’s event, organised within the rescEU-DSIM-IT project framework, brought together experts, institutions, and operational partners to exchange perspectives and reinforce collaboration in emergency preparedness and response.
The morning opened with a presentation of the project’s progress, highlighting key developments in enhancing preparedness and operational coordination within the rescEU framework. We were honoured to welcome representatives from DG HOME and several international guests, whose participation once again underscored the crucial role of European cooperation in addressing complex emergency scenarios.
The programme then moved into a Table Top Exercise (TTX), where theory met practice. Teams from Italy, Finland, Germany, and the Czech Republic presented their rescEU capacities, sharing operational assets, vehicles, and response capabilities. What emerged was more than a technical overview: it was a genuine exchange of expertise and experience, showing how different national capacities can complement each other when responding to complex emergencies.
Participants then had the opportunity to see preparedness in action. They visited the rescEU-CBRN-DSIM-IT operational fleet, gaining a closer look at the vehicles and equipment used to support emergency response operations on the ground. They also explored SAFE’s XR vehicles and immersive technologies, discovering how extended-reality training solutions simulate emergency scenarios and support new approaches to preparedness.
By combining innovation, training, and operational expertise, Fondazione SAFE contributes to developing new preparedness practices, demonstrating that resilience is strengthened not only through coordination and planning, but also through continuous learning and technological advancement.
A sincere thank you to all partners and participants whose engagement continues to strengthen this shared European effort.
