This October, Fondazione SAFE will host one of the local editions of the EUDIS Defence Hackathon 2026, a European initiative bringing together startups, researchers, students, industry representatives and innovators to address some of the most pressing security and defence challenges facing Europe.

The Autumn edition of the Hackathon will focus on “Autonomy on the Battlefield”, encouraging the development of innovative solutions in autonomous systems, robotics and next-generation defence technologies.

For Fondazione SAFE, hosting this event represents an important opportunity to contribute to the growth of the European defence innovation ecosystem by fostering collaboration between research, industry and end users.

The event will also showcase the role of the Calvarina Testing and Training Area, designed as an environment where ideas and technologies can be developed, tested and validated in realistic operational scenarios, integrating testing, training and innovation uptake activities.

Hosting the EUDIS Defence Hackathon 2026 reflects Fondazione SAFE’s mission to connect research, industry and operational needs while accelerating the adoption of innovative technologies through an integrated approach that combines testing, training and innovation uptake.

Further information on the programme, participating partners and registration opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.
