Logo Rationale

The OPFA Waste project logo explores the key concepts of fighting illicit waste trafficking and police cooperation within the International and European scenario. The surrounding arrows portray the circular economy, overarching framework for illicit waste trafficking. The twelve five-pointed stars on the blue field acknowledge the EU funding and operational support to the project. The Italian, Romanian and Latvian flags represent the project partner Law Enforcement Agencies and the three swords emphasize the cooperation among these forces. The world map evokes the international target of the joint criminal investigations promoted by the initiative and the project name is displayed on the circular arrows, complimenting the idea of sustainable waste management cycle.
