On Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th of July 2021 a delegation of the Croatian Criminal Police Directorate was invited to Rome by the Arma Dei Carabinieri – Command for the Environmental Protection and Ecological Transition – Comando Carabinieri per la Tutela Ambientale e la Transizione Ecologica, for an operational meeting supported by the Operational Facility.
The meeting aimed at improving the operative cooperation among Law Enforcement Authorities of the two neighbouring countries over the fight against illicit waste trafficking, as well as at discussing specific aspects related to transnational shipments of waste involving the two Member States.
The meeting, entirely supported in its logistic set up by the Operational Facility, represented an ideal forum for the police authorities to share common views, methodologies and intelligence over the increasing threat of Illicit Waste Trafficking.
The Facility is accessible to all Member States Law Enforcement Agencies meeting the criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference, available upon request via info@opfawaste-project.eu.
The OPFA WASTE team will keep you posted on future activities.
